Try it this weekend: Neighborhood Blocks!

Neighborhood BlocksHere is a fun way to explore and reflect on the world just outside your doorstep!
Ages 4 and up

Materials:

  • Paper
  • Tools for drawing and painting
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • A variety of boxes or wooden blocks

What to do:

  1. Go on a neighborhood walk with your family. Notice the buildings and places that are in your community.
  2. After the walk, draw pictures together of the places in your community. (Alternatively, take pictures with a camera and print the photos.)
  3. Tape the drawings on the boxes or blocks.
  4. Play and explore your Block Neighborhood!

We used blue tape to create streets. What else can you add, real or imaginary?
