The Competitor’s Day of Play

The Competitor knows there’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. Through competitive play children learn about rules, taking turns and being part of a team and practicing healthy ways to win and lose.

Chicago Children’s Museum is full of places for Competitors to show off their skills all day long:

10 am – 11 am

Start the day in Forts, where kids can challenge themselves to see if they can build the biggest, most intricate, or coziest fort.

11 am – 12 pm
Climbing Schooner

Head to the Kovler Family Climbing Schooner: an ideal spot for competition. Children ages five and up can scale three stories of ship-shape rigging all the way from the cargo hold to the crow’s nest, and our staff is on deck to encourage them the whole way.

1 pm – 3 pm
Third Floor

The museum’s third floor is full of ways to spark competition, from the Skyscraper Challenge in Skyline to seeing who can unearth the most bones in Dinosaur Expedition.
