The Indie Kid is a trendsetter—never afraid to try a new toy or head to the other end of the playground on their own. Indie Kids are especially skilled in solitary play, where they get to practice keeping themselves entertained and learn self-sufficiency—skills that will be a big help as they grow up.
Here’s how Indie Kids can show off their solitary play skills at Chicago Children’s Museum.
10 am – 11 am
Forts is perfect for Indie Kids—they can design and build the coolest fort in the room all by themselves, then reap the rewards when other children come to visit.
11 am – 12 pm
Indie Kids will feel at home in WaterWays, a perfect spot for solitary play. They can paint designs on our walls with water, experiment with pulls and levers, and lead the way as they play along our river’s twists and turns.
1 pm – 3 pm
Head to the Art Studio, where Indie Kids can finish the day creating their own masterpieces. See our online calendar for what’s happening in the Art Studio today.
